Taking Out the Trash

Like your home mail box, your email Inbox will only hold a limited amount of mail. When an email is deleted, it is stored in the Trash Can folder therefore still taking up valuable space in your Inbox. On occasion, it is important to empty these folder of excess items.

1. To remove unwanted items from the Junk or Trash files, click on the Trash Can folder located in the left-hand column to display all items in the folder. Note: The words Trash Can will be in bold lettering once you are successfully inside the folder.

2. Then click the button labeled Empty.

3. A pop-up window will ask you to confirm the command to empty the folder. Click OK.

This process works for any folder. Make sure that all tasks are finished, and that you no longer need these messages, because once they are gone, they are gone forever! Remember to empty the Junk folder regularly as well.
